hi there. Can anyone reccomend me a good holder for my phone when i'm running?? Lsr's are getting up near 2hrs now so can't really leave phone at home any more or wife will have a heart attack that i'm in a ditch somewhere. Don't like putting it in my shorts pocket as it bounces around too much. Thanks

I've used a few different neoprene armband type things for holding phones, iPods and other miscellaneous items. My favourite is this one. Most phones will stick out of it, but they are pretty safe. You definitely need to put them in a waterproof bag though. Hilly and Ron Hill do similar kinds of thing.

I use a cheap and cheerful gel belt (with a small'ish factor phone) when I' running up in the hills or feel that there's a risk I might need a lift home, kind of like this one. I would always stick it in a plastic bag though. I usually keep some money and plasters in there too. Also handy for gels. :)

Does the belt have some elasticity in it or is it rigid?

The one I have isn't the same make (Hi5 I think?) but the one I have is an elasticated belt (and the one in the picture looks pretty similar). Even with a phone, you wouldn't know it was there. Wore it yesterday for the Enniscorthy half marathon, and after the race went searching for the belt in my gear bag, as it had my car key in it. After 5 minutes of searching, I realized I was still wearing it! After seeing the one on Wiggle for €9 I ordered it, as I need a second one for the OH, so if you want to wait a week I can tell you.

Couple that with your shoe fiasco - you must be a very busy man. :)

I use this. It's very similar to Plodder's but a bit deeper and with a close over top.

I think I see the problem.
    Krusty's checklist says
    1. Belt
    2. Shoes
    3. Balloon

    Krusty sees
    1. Garmin
    2. Garmin
    3. Garmin

thanks for the advice. I went into john buckley sports in cork today and got a hilly armband like the one plodder mentioned for 20euro. Tried it out tonight and its very good, no bouncing at all and feels very secure on the arm so you barely notice it after a mile or so.

Picked up a Run365 arm wallet in JJB Sports in Tallafornia y'day €6.50 - fits a BB Curve perfect, also a reflective / flashing armband for €6.
The also had a belt set up for either 12.50 or 14.50 (can't remember) - came with 3 x 200ml bottles, section for gels and 2 zipped areas at the front.
I've bought Run365 hats, gloves, socks and while at the lower end of the scale never had any issues with them - great vaule imo.
