RTE2 fills the gap between the World Cup games with ... old World Cup games

    Whats that all about?
    Today on RTE2

2.40 Uruguay v South Korea (World Cup Live)

5.25 'The Grand Finale' - The official film of the 2006 World Cup

7.05 USA v Ghana (World Cup Live)

Who wants to watch more Football during the gap between live matches?

The review of the 2006 World Cup would have been a nice warm up if RTE had shown it in the week before the first match. It's overkill to show it today.

Even if you wanted to record it, they would have been forced to drop it if Uruguay v South Korea had gone to extra time. RTE should schedule shorter programmes in this slot which could be rearranged more easily.

I'm loving the World Cup but I don't need every waking hour filled with more football.

there's hundreds of other channels to watch, why complain about it?

Its either that or repeats of CSI! Think RTE 2 would be long gone if they werent allowed to show CSI re-runs, sometimes back-to-back, everytime theyre stuck! Like the show, but its getting a little monotonous:D

Well, apart from anything else, RTE get a licence fee.

    The other channels don't.

If they did this every week of every year then you would have something to complain about. RTÉ caters for everyone and evidently there was viewers that enjoyed it.

Ah the old licence fee line! Just because you pay a licence fee doesn't mean you have to sit glued to to the bloody television 24/7...............
