Cash on plane

Does anyone know how much cash you can bring on a flight before you have to declare it? I'm going on holiday and renting a house. The plan is to pay half now and half in cash on arrival - the cash sum is about €1700. Would I be silly to bring this amount of money on the flight? I'm flying from Ireland to France. Grateful…

As long as the cash is under 10,000 there is no problem in carrying it on you. Anything over 10,000 must be declared.
