    Hi everyone,

I'm planning on setting up a small business as a sole trader.

My question is as a sole trader am I legally obliged to get my accounts signed by an accountant each year?

I have read that I do not, but I want to be absolutely certain so that I don't get anything wrong.

If you are a soletrader then you are not obliged to have your accounts signed by an accountant each year however if you do not have much of an idea about doing your accounts/tax return then it maybe beneficial to engage an accountant plus you may gain some advice about tax planning etc.

    Best of luck.
