A Swiss man has been sentenced to five months in jail and three strokes of a cane for spray-painting graffiti on a train in Singapore.

He won't be sitting comfortably for a while!

Anyway, I was in Singapore a few years ago and found it one of the cleanest cities I've ever seen, would such a deterrant solve graffiti here?

@^'s[/EMAIL] meted out in the industrial schools of the past.

I think a couple of strikes of a cane would be appropriate had graffiti along the lines of Irish graffiti e.g.

    "Johnjo is gay"

    "Ashanti Luvs Doyler 4Evur"

I love good graffiti, unlike mostof the shíte around Ireland.
I was in Italy a few years ago and woah, the graffiti there is unbelievable.

He pretty much deserves it for the reason that anyone that goes to Singapore knows what the laws are in terms of litter and vandalism and he still went ahead an did it. I hope it really really hurts :)

are you for real ,any idea whats involved singapore and malaysia use a ratan a kind of bamboo that leaves the victim with blood streaming down their legs, and thats after three or four strokes for minor offences,24 strokes is not uncommon for more serious crimes along with a 20 year sentence:mad:
