Jordana Spiro has fallen out of Love Bites, NBC’s upcoming romantic anthology series from Sex and the City scribe Cindy Chupack.
Spiro’s involvement with the buzzy Bites (which also stars Ugly Betty vet Becki Newton) has been the subject of much speculation given the fact that she’s still contractually bound to TBS’ My Boys. Although the odds appear slim that TBS will renew the show for a fifth season (season 4 premieres July 25), it was a risk NBC apparently wasn’t willing to take. It’s unclear if her role will be recast.

The hourlong comedy anthology Love Bites has been chewed up and spit out.
It has been removed from the fall prime-time schedule (Thursdays at 10/9c) and is being replaced by The Apprentice , NBC announced Thursday.
"Everyone at the network loves Love Bites, but for a number of reasons, it now makes sense to showcase the comedic anthology series a little later in the new season," Mitch Metcalf, executive vice president of program planning and scheduling for NBC, said in a statement.
Those number of reasons include Jordana Spiro having to pull out because of contractual issues with her TBS comedy My Boys,Becki Newton, who plays a virgin in the Bites pilot, becoming pregnant and Cindy Chupack stepping down as showrunner.
Chupack, who's staying on as a writer, said: "Launching an anthology series ... is a huge undertaking, and I strongly feel that I can be most helpful not showrunning, but writing."
Meantime, Trump's Apprentice franchise gets to capitalize on the recession by returning to average people — rather than celebrities — who have been walloped by the economy. The 16 contestants encompass people who have lost their jobs and recent college graduates who have few prospects.

    Thats not a good sign

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/news/a246541/will--grace-execs-join-love-bites.html
Jon Kinnally and Tracy Poust have signed up as showrunners for new series Love Bites.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the duo, who previously worked on Will & Grace and Ugly Betty, joined the programme as part of a two-year deal with NBC.
Their appointment comes after the original executive producer Cindy Chupack decided to step down to focus on writing the show.
NBC's president of primetime entertainment Angela Bromstad said: "We worked with Jon and Tracy for many years on Will & Grace and feel they are perfect for this job on Love Bites.
"Not only do they bring intelligence, passion and great experience, but they are one of the funniest writing duos working in television today. This is great news for an incredibly promising new show."

Nice BSG refrences.... "so say we all" :p
    Just finished watching this....BRILLIANT! :D
Very very funny!...it's like one of those 90's sex comedies, very witty, some great dialogue and sex typr scenarios.

Highly recomending this!....it's anthology, differernt couples in diferent sexual scenarios. Fantastic scene with Jennifer Love Hewitt playing herself on a plane with Greg Grunberg, hillarity ensues!....

Another great scene with with Kyle Howard and Lindsay Price....and a vibrator! :D

How this was rated PG i'll never know!...alot of adult dialogue and sexual refrences. Great stuff....i'm 100% in for this show!

This sucks ass!...not the fact it's cancelled but the fact they won't bloody broadcast the final episode!!!!!!!!!!, written by Cindy Chupack as well....load of crap!

Originally set to run through July 28, we've confirmed the ninth and final installment of the series is being shelved.

Repeats of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will instead fill the Thursday, 10:00/9:00c hour beginning on said date.

No reason for the decision was given.

The news leaves just two episodes - "Boys to Men" (July 14) and "Modern Plagues" (July 21) - yet to air.

Network sources indicate there are currently no plans to show the remaining episode on air or online.

As previously reported, "Bites" was set to open this past fall in the aforementioned Thursday, 10:00/9:00c slot.

Following a slew of changes in front of and behind the camera, the Peacock opted to hold the series until midseason and cut its 13-episode commitment to nine.

The series then ultimately found its way to the lineup last month, the most recent episode of which delivered a modest 1.97 million viewers and a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49.

Watched the final ep. last night, the fact it was written by Cindy Chupack and also this update from Futon confirms they aired everything they had:

[7/20/11 - UPDATED! We've subsequently been told there actually isn't a ninth episode per se, rather NBC committed to nine episodes however producers ultimately were only able to deliver enough segments to fill eight.]

For Summer fare it was ok, i liked the anthology aspect of it, you never knew who would guest star, while some stories were better then others overall it wasn't great, i don't think it's the premise of an anthology moreso the writing, but i did like Becki Newton and Michelle Tractenberg.
