    Hi,

I am currently working as an accounts assistant and considering doing the ACCA course. Could someone tell me is the course very difficult on a scale of 1:10

    Thanks :)

Well regards accountancy it'd be a 10. But compared to, say, theoretical physics, it'd be below 5 I'd say.:)

If you need to get qualified to progress your career then I'd say go for it.

    Hi smcgiff,

Do you know if hsi in limerick or ennis business college would be the better of the two?

Don't know much about HSI and nothing about Ennis Business College so can't comment.

    As a general rule...

If you have some third level education experience then studying theory papers yourself would, especially at lower levels, be just as good as attending college. I think attending lectures for accounting, tax and finance papers is best.

I attended BPP for some and was happy with them

I went to BPP too for the 2 auditing papers and the 3 finals. The lecturers I had for the finals were pretty good but the pace was extremely quick particularly for the financial management paper. Good luck trying to follow the solutions in class.

Overall I found them very good.

The auditing lecturer (Shaun Browne) is a laugh and very good at giving exam technique hints. He also shames the life out of people who are late or talk in class, and tells some ridiculous (probably made up) stories about his personal life.

Clarelad, having done courses in both places, I would suggest HSI all the way much better.

I would recommend BPP over any others based on experience.

Its starts at about a 2 (F1) and then goes up to about a 8.

I say 8 as its a wee bit easier pressure wise than say ACA as your not gonna get fired if you dont pass.
