Rent Allowance; new forms concern.

Today we got forms saying our entitlment to RA was to be reviewed. A whole new set of forms which of course the landlord has to sign.

We have no idea why this is happening. It has never happened before to us, and when the amount has changed, we have simply had a letter giving the new amount.

Our problem is that our landlord is trying to evict us by breaking the lease. The PTRB have the case in hand and say that he cannot do this.

The landlord will have been sent paperwork from the PTRB this week; and now the RA forms?

We are deeply concerned that the landlord will now refuse to sign the forms to try to get us out.

Please, has anyone on RA here had new forms like this? We have been here over seven months now.

Worried sick; we are trying to find a new house but it will mean moving county to find somewhere we can afford on RA

Grateful for any advice; thank you.

He has to sign them. If he doesn't tell the CWO , you can always send them to him by registered mail(track and trace) so you can prove he received them.

What if he has now decided that he will not accept Rent Allowance? Or if "someone" has given some false info re us?

I know; we are being a wee bit paranoid.... The original forms were siged by his father as he was abroad..

Hey Graces7, if i was in your situation then i would make a photocopy of all forms( i do this for my records to know what i sent and when) send originals to landlord by registered post with a letter stating that you need the forms back from the date of the letter (i'd give him one week) i'd also put in self addressed stamped envelope just so he has no excuse not to do it and send them back asap.....when the week is up if he hasnt sent them back go around to your CWO and let them know what is going on regarding PRTB and that you sent RA forms make sure to keep track of delivery of letter and print off receipt of it a paper trail is vital as you will know from PRTB
I completely understand why your freaked out and para and hope that it works out for you

Thanks for this. I am planning to ask him to send the forms directly to the CWO; he knows him personally you see.. Small rural community.

Also planning to pay rent weekly from now on. We will have difficulty fnding deposit money for a new place.

That site is interesting; re him supposed to have told re PTRB.. he is not registered with them even. When I told the PTRB that they said, "That is not YOUR problem.." Wonderful to have them and Threshold.
