Tesco Cava.. €14.99 + 2 for €10!

    Just spotted this today. Its the Tesco Demi Sec spanish Cava. Sold at €14.95 ...or two for €10! Handy for those balmy evening bbq's. Cant vouch for how it tastes tho' I'm afraid.

    I got mine in Killarney Tesco, but I'd imagine its countrywide. Its not "end of line" or anything. Its in the sparkling wine section. The Brut is not reduced but the Demi-Sec is.

    Its in Drogheda Tesco Extra, but not Bettystown or Drogheda West St.

    Is there ever any offers in Drogheda West Street. They are currently running the 7e and 10e Meal Deals. There is one item from the 10e deal and one item from the 7e deal - staff say they never had any stock . Maybe the store manager should have the deal explained to him!

    Remember Tescos "half price" wine deals are utterly false.
    A basic spanish Cava does not retail for €14.99.

    At 2 for €10 ist good value, but don't expect €14.95 quality. Same when the sell Andre Carpentier champagne for "half Price" at 19.99. This is tesco own brand & drinkable but barely worth 19.99 and NEVER sold at 39.99 let alone worth 39.99

    Same applies to Kenton Valley (own brand) and any other half price wine offer they have. - It may be reasonable value at the cheaper price, but simply don't expect the false higher price quality.
