How competent is your boss?

As it says on the tin... out of ten.

We've recently got a new manager in work. Oh my God I didn't think somebody could be as thick. This afternoon I'm going to have to go in and explain AGAIN my holidays this summer (it'll be the forth time having to do this).

Emails, staff notices, letters, all contain spelling mistakes. And trying to add or subtract figures containing more than two digits will inevitably lead to problems. All of us have been underpaid or overpaid at some stage. And when her boss brought this up with her, my manager had her up for bullying. I could go on.

(I'm in retail btw)

I know we all think we could be better in the job than the boss but seriously how competent is yours?

We have 4 bosses- 3 have an active role, 2 of those I get on with the other I think is just hopeless!!

She just has no idea how to utilise the staff that she has!!
Gets Part Time long term staff to do the jobs that new staff should be doing
ie pt long termers get stuck doin the stuff you learned in the first week- highly trivial stuff!

She cant motivate staff! Very dictatorlike style!

My supervisor is 10/10, although she may fire me soon :P The boss above her is a complete fcuktard, lazy beatch getting the new folk to get her lunch, make her soup etc etc, the main floor boss is a lying bastard. Every day there's a new promise which is never fulfilled so as far as managing people goes, he's a tosser. The MD is sound out the door, but she doesn't deal with us.

A complete dope, and thats me being nice. Haven't a clue how she got her job, uses the wrong words in places, still cant function the till properly, lack of common sense etc etc

I'd have to say 8/10 for my boss. He's a good guy and easy to deal with. Always willing to listen to new ideas and encourage the staff around him. I think we work well together, i'm fairly headstrong in work and when i get something in my head i gotta keep at it, and when i think he has something ****ed up i can tell him straight and he'll listen.

I took away the two marks cos he short and bald
