Should I Wait to Start Sit-Ups?

    I’ve been training for about 3 weeks now, I’m trying to work my way to being able to run in 10K races.

    I’ve cut down completely on my junk intake and I hope to start losing weight. At the moment I am a 40” waist.

    Anyway my question is that I have heard that doing sit-ups will build up your stomach muscles and thereby initially make you look even fatter. So Should I wait a while until I’ve lost some of my stomach weight?

    Load of rubbish. Go for it. If you find sit ups difficult, consider "the plank" as an alternative.

    Throw some press ups in there too. 6 weeks from now you'll be glad you did.

    I'm finding the situps ok - I've just started on pushups and I can only squeeze out about 3 :( but I'll keep at it....
