I was at Leopardstown recently and saw one of the most blatant non triers for a long time. The horse started fav was second last for all of the 1.2 miles until Murtagh let it run with 50yds to go ,it finished around 7th or 8th .If this is off today it wins with Fran Berry on board,Berry rode winner of that race in Leopardstown. As this horse loves fast ground could she win a Galway hurdle??SANDYMOUNT LADY.

could be a good evening in the Curragh for Weld on tonight, runs Easy Mate in the apprentice derby, (negative that Smullen won't be riding though), around the 5/1 mark and runs Moonlit Garden in the stakes race, ran a great race at Ascot with terrible draw and had to race all alone on near rail and still ran well, around the 2/1 mark

I too was at Leopardstown and i can tell u the horse was trying. The horse was drawn in stall 20 or close to it. It is near impossible to get in from that draw. He had to hold her up so not to lose ground racing wide. Pace was slow so when they quickened she had no chance. Would have needed to be a serious horse to win from that position. It did look eyecatching and with a better draw she would have won but to say she was not trying is not true. She races off 69 tonight and i think she is a winner without a penalty. I backed her at 12/1 with Bet 365 this morning. Hard to see her out off the first four.

A horse to finish where it did without any effort from the jockey[never touched with whip] is a non trier in anybodys book.It broke from stalls in about 6th ,Murtagh took a tug and placed the horse second last. The horses that finished 1st ,2nd and third all had high draws.

Was at the Curragh tonight and on my way out, overheard someone say that they wouldn't have time to water the course before racing tomorrow. How true this is i don't know but just passing it on.

Stiff breeze there tonight and there was a couple of horses withdrawn due to ground conditions so it will be firm by tomorrow i'ld say if it doesn't rain tonight.

Surely to god for safety reasons they must water tonight.. you'll have too many horses pulling out tomorrow so.. I don't get the excuse of not having the time to water.. im going up myself tomorrow so im looking forward to it..

According to the RP website, they did water after racing which was the sensible thing to do.
