Really looking forward to this years Sama Sama once again. Obviously, the usual high standard of training will apply but also the Hidden Agenda on Friday night looks really interesting, then 3 days of Sama Sama, 4 days of Intensive Instructor training and then finally an Out of Country Instructor weekend. I'll need a holiday by the time all this is over.

    Sama-Sama 2010, Poconos, PA

Sama-Sama is our annual gatherring of Sayoc Instructors and practitioners. It’s an opportunity to catch up with many old friends and introduce ourselves to the new practitioners that keep growing every year.

After signing in, preparations for the evening “Hidden Agenda” will be on Friday, July 2, on site. This year’s agenda will be “HEAD AXE”. The training will explore design and traditional use. The head axe template 1 and 2, and combat applications along with one and multiple man drills. And there’s more

Just got back yesterday from the States after a fantastic 10 days of training.

Started Friday night's Hidden Agenda which covered Tomahawk/Head Axe with Tuhon Raf. He covered deployment (with an emphasis on not getting caught with the spike which Quillo asked about some time ago), lines of cutting and various technique. Really great 3 hours of instruction.

Sama Sama itself was Sat/Sun/Mon with the usual VERY long hours and covering a wide variety of instruction in a lot of areas including Cirriculum training, Stickwork, blade deployment, family dynamics, more Hawk, sword/long blade, groundwork and the melee's. Here is a clip of some of the stuff we worked on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcdSHnRJa_A

Camp 505 was Intensive Instructor training on Tue/Wed/Thur/Fri with Pamana Tuhon Sayoc which was unbelievable as he doesn't teach publicly anymore. This showed us how to break down systems to truely understand how they work using Panantukan as a base.

Instructor Weekend was Sat/Sun with Pamana Tuhon Sayoc again and covered LOT training mainly.

Also got to work on some Carbine training with some high level operators (some of the other European guys got to work on handgun) on the new firing range on the site and that same night we got invited over to Tuhon Tom's to watch the UFC live with some of the SF/SEALS guys who were there for the weekend.

Sounds like an awesome weekend Dave, the clip looks good, sickened I couldn't go but didn't have the $, still trying to build up the classes here.

Sounds like the 505 was good too, it's rare to get to work with Pamana Tuhon and for him to break down the stuff like that must have been cool.

Guro Leo was telling us about the range when he got back last week and said it was really nice, looking forward to hopefully getting up there and doing some pistol stuff with Tuhon Tom,haven't done any firearms with him yet, and the stuff on the tactical page looks good.

Hey Aran, hows it going? I can only imagine what its like in the Big Apple with that heat and power out must have made the conditioning interesting to say the least.

Yea, fabulous 10 days, we really enjoyed it. Yea, the new range is great with both areas for carbine and handgun training. Couple of the Tiger Swan lads there too putting me on the gun timer which as you can imagine had interesting results:) Guro Leo was looking sharp as always and with so many guys on the Zone diet, it was like been in a fighters camp at times:) Hope everything is going well in Urban Jungle and tell Guro Josh I was asking for him. Stay safe brother

Found this cool clip of Tuhon Carl and Tuhon Bong teaching the Hawk, similar to what we were working on
