Tesco are currently selling a tp wooden swing and childs garden bench.

The swing is reduced from 163 to 50 euro

The bench is reduced from 56 to 26 euro

Bought both yesterday in Maynooth and have to say they are great quality.

Do you think a 1 year old would be safe in that swing's seat? Not talking about hardcore swinging, but just some gentle pushing!

I would cetainly think so it looks very safe and sturdy.

I went to Tesco in Maynooth last night and just as I arrived a guy came along with a pallet full of the swings. They were snapped up in a few minutes (not as much interest in the bench). Set it up last night and it's very good. Young fella (1yr old) had a great time in it. It comes with a baby seat, which was just the right fit. Thanks OP!!!

Got a swing in Tesco Finglas last night, had it up in about an hour (had to drill 2 extra holes - to be expected with DIY).

    Very sturdy and decent gear.

€50 for the swing, €26.99 (iirc) for the table.

    Cheers OP!

Looks like they are made from pine or some soft wood so you would need to protect them from the elements if you want them to last. Danish oil or something would do the trick

Anybody know if they have these in any of the Limerick stores?

Picked one of these up in Tesco Clearwater for €50 - 3 or 4 left there still. Thanks OP

Anyone have any problems putting the bench together? There was an insert page in the instruction book that corrected step three, so that fitting the table to the base of the bench requires 3 screw/bolt/washers on each side instead of 2. However, the packet of fittings with my set was short 2 screws (and bolt and washers)! Seems they updated the instructions, but didn't include the extra fittings.

Anyone else have the same problem? I have a box of leftovers and spares and managed to get an extra 2 screw/bolt/washers together to finish it off.

BTW, I was in Tesco Maynooth this morning and all the swings were gone and only the display bench was left.

soft wood, don't think it's pine. The instructions say that the wood has already been treated and should only be treated again for aesthetic purposes.

I went to the big Tesco extra shop in Arklow on Sunday and there were no benches left but they said they are getting more in because they sold so well
