Ive recently brought a compaq mini and unfortunatly all the plugs that i have supplied with my car adaptor power supply are far to big. Is there anywhere i can buy a plug or a non standard plug i can adapt to fit my current car adaptor to fit a compaq mini?

You could just but a 12v car inverter and use the mains adaptor

well what do you expect, your like converting a 12 volt dc to a 240 volt ac level.

its not normally done, using a laptop in a car!

sorted the problem, found an old plug on an old universal mains adaptor and wired that into the normal 12v laptop car adaptor!
