I'm playing golf on Saturday but only have time for 9 holes due to the amount of sport that must be watched!

I'm looking to play somewhere different and was wondering if anywhere lets you pay green fees for 9 holes as opposed to 18?

Any recommendations? Looking for a course in the greater Dublin area if possible.

    Cheers.

Play somewhere different than where??? I'm fairly sure most of the public courses like Grange Castle, Elm green, Hollystown etc have a rate for just 9 holes.

I'd recommend Corballis myself - great little course and unlike anything else around

    Corballis I agree.

Depends where you are looking tho. Farnham estate in Cavan Town is a great new course (needs a little nitting together on a few patches) no two holes the same, some very wide open spaces and some closed in double sides tree lined fairways (often remins me of the 18th tee off in Augusta) Great 2nd hole and a 605 par 5 15th down hill.

Played Castleknock twice in the last year and like it alot. Playing Knightsbrook in Trim in the morning will report back.

yep it certainly is. the greens are in great nick at the moment.
an a few deceptive holes. I have a mental breakdown every time i step onto the 7th tee lol

Havn't played it yet, car broke down on the way to it last yr, well we thought it did, a stone got stuck in the wheel and was making a weird noise so we turned back just in case.

Will hopefully play it in a few weeks. Look out for the 7th eh?

Oh and if anyone here has not yet played the Slieve Russell in Cavan your seriously missing out.

    Played Knightsbrook today,
Very good course, harder back 9 tho, a few encounters with water too.

Bring your "A game", many long iron second shots. Open plan therefore plenty of scope for using the driver!

7th is Nothing to Write Home about, but I could see how someone could have a mental block about it, some nice holes ranging from half a pitching wedge in length, to a full 3wood!
