    Hi.

I've been claiming more "casual Workers" allowance for a number of months that I'm entitled to and I really want to pay it back. (worked 4 days and told sw I worked 3 etc etc.)

The problem I have is how do I go about it ?
I really want to pay it back but I dont want to end up in court for giving the money back.

Before everyone lashes into me for sponge, I know I am and I'm wracked with guilt thus the reason I want to give it back.

    Any suggestions please ?

    Thanks,

    Wanderer.

I'd say contact Revenue or your local Social Welfare Office.

I cant tell them it was a mistake as it was done over a few months.

If there was an amnisty I'd pay it back in the morning however as I stated in my earlier post I dont want to land myself in the soup for trying to give it back.

just tell them you were told by somebody once that you were supposed to dock a day a week because blah blah blah. the cant prove that you are intelligent. 8-S

Its gonna cause problems id say.. the amount of warnings etc that you agree to when you sign the forms..

If i were you id donate it to a local homeless charity or any LOCAL charity, at least then its helping someone out, which the government might be doing anyway

Tell them you worked some days for a few hours and have only learned now that you were not entitled to claim. A few years back I claimed the dole for a shooter period and then got another job. I got the dole for an extra week but haven't thought much of it until two years layer I got a letter asking for repayment which I simply sent a cheque in for with no hassle.
