Thats a very defeatist attitude to be going into a test.. :D

We don't charge for a retest anymore unless someone comes in with a yolk than is hanging

    Where is we. :p

Just that I was charged the recheck fee for checking replacement wishbone bushings on a Transit in the last place, a 5 minute visual over a ramp.

We is in Sligo! ha ha

The rule that used to be in our place was, if the rollers were needed or someone was taking the piss altogether then they got charged the re-test fee.

Personally I think that 40 odd euro is a bit steep for a re-test anyway

Its a bloody rip off for five minutes over a ramp, its only a fcuking garage and not a private surgery.

Got my van DOE'd at Murphys Truck rentals near the Red Cow, failed on a left hand lower ball joint and loose fan belt. No charge for the retest. :)

I know a friend who got his truck done and wasnt charged a retest fee in this place:

    Argent Equipment (Ireland) Ltd
Unit 21 Parkmore Industrial Estate, Long Mile Road, Dublin 12, Ireland

Not sure of any others that dont charge but im sure there are more.

As it happens the RSA have issued a letter to all test centres telling them that this practise is against EU regulations and if a test lane needs to be used a retest fee must be charged. Test centres are no longer allows to advertise the fact that they do not charge for retests.

I don't have it to hand here but will upload it next time I am in work.

could they not charge a token re-test fee of 1c to get around it?

The retest fee is half the full test fee.

I think a coach is something like 180 for a full test or something in around that
