would my apple care cover a new battery ??

    my battery on my mac is now nakered and im just wondering if my apple care would cover it??? i heard lads on here talking about how they contacted aplle and they sent them out a new battery ???

    It depends. Strictly speaking, if it is all used up: no. However, they will still replace it for you in many circumstances. How many cycles has it had?

    its not empty im getting like 2- 3 hours out of it on a full charge, not what it use to be
    how do you find how many cycles it took

    Apple menu > About this Mac > click on More info

    This will open Apple System Profiler. Click on Power in the sidebar. You'll see the cycle count under Battery info.

    It just means it has had a lot of use. I'm pretty sure Apple won't replace a battery with that many cycles. It would need to be below 250-300.

    Use Coconut Battery to fully asses the health of the battery. But getting 2-3 hours after 700 cycles sounds pretty good to me.

    Check your AppleCare conditions, as far as I remember it is fairly explicit on battery coverage. Its on the Apple website under support as well.

    It was 300 on the old (white) Macbook .. I remember because I called them when my battery was maxing out at 1.5 hours ..

    I had 315 cycles NOOOOOOO!.. otherwise they would have replaced no probs.

    The cycle count depends on the model, older models had less than newer models, new macbook pro batteries last longer than the older generation.
