I searched the forums and I know it's been asked several times before but most of the threads were years old.

Just wondering does anyone know any good insurance companies for young male drivers, I'll be 18 with 1 year no claims bonus. I was with AXA last year - €3150. So far I can only find companies that are even more expensive which seems stupid.

    Thanks.

Id say your best bet is quinn direct or aviva. When i started off quinn were by far the cheapest quote. Try a quote online for both.
Try adding a named driver with more experience than you. Got 300 euro off my quote with aviva for this. Thought it would be more expensive but it wasnt.

Agree with this. I got a discount for adding my mother as a named driver. The guy giving me the quote told me about this, saved me a few quid, fair play to him :-) How do insurance companies come up with these rules

Im 17 yo male on a 1.1 206. Paid €1800 w/Quinn. Next best quote was over €3,000. I've heard britton brokers are good but they told me you need to be 19 to get the best quotes but you might as well give it a go.

Thanks for the info - I'll see what Quinn give me and what happens with some others if I add my dad as a named driver.

By the way from what I got on their website Tesco do great premiums if you have a 2 year + no claims bonus.

    Have you tried a broker?

I just got my insurance today and they were cheaper than everyone including 123.ie.
