what I wanted to ask about is the diplona sa ghaeilge in manooth. has anyone done it? is it worth trying? is it really difficult? my standard of irish is ok but not brilliant. If anyone has done it please tell me your experience of it
    Thanks :)

I came across people when studying for my Irish degree who had done these diplomas in different colleges and their standard was very good, so I'd say it not easy.

But let's look at this another way - you got a D1...........you might have been just a sliver away from an Honour. You are only in second year of your degree so why not repeat it next year while the same syallabus is still there? Look at all that you'll have behind you from the previous experience and you only need a relatively small imporvement to get where you want to be. And it's be a far easier option I would suggest than any Diploma.

I'd also say have another shot at the leaving cert HC3 but consider if the new syllabus to be examined for the first time in 2012 would suit your talents better. There will be more marks for the oral in the new syllabus and less poems. If talking is your strong point then wait till 2012.
