My son had surgery a couple of weeks ago and the staff left those white 3m sticky things all over his chest and my god they were like fort knox. An Irish nurse advised they would fall off in a couple of days, which they didnt. Most of them have NOW fallen off but have left red dots and irritated skin and there is one stubborn one that just wont come off.

What can I do to get it off without ripping the skin from under it? Ive already tried compresses to loosen it but that didnt work.

I've found in the past soaking the plaster in baby oil seems to loosen it and make it less adherant if that makes any sense?

you can get a product called "REMOVE" from any decent chemist, made by Smith and Nephew. Like a baby wipe, but it helps to break down the adhesive on them and you can ease them off. Should do the trick.
