The WC is always won by a team with pedigree in the competition.
It's not always intuitive to know but Uruguay have won it twice.
They've been in the top 3 most impressive team in the opening matches too.

So I decided to place a small wager on Uruguay to win it with Forlan top scorer - 125/1 with boyle!

Worth a small few bob maybe.

Not a snowball's chance of it coming in, though I do have Diego as top scorer myself

backed forlan @75 before the start, layed off on most of it now. Dont think he will be now and dont think theyll win it but should get to quarters anyway

Have a good shot at the semi finals.

    Play South Korea next.

Winner of that plays the winner of game between winner of englands group and runner up in Germanys group.

So possible Urugauy/South Korea V Serbia/USA for semi final spot.

Weaker side of the draw and great laying opportunity for those who got on early.

You'd fancy them against most teams en-route to semi-final, but it gets trickier from there.

need a little advice here if thats possible...just need to make sure im right...

as i mentioned earlier in the thread i have €5 e/w on uruguay at 100/1

if they win outright (not likely i know) i stand to win 760..

if they get to the final i stand to win 380? .......am i right on this?

they have 3 matches to reach the final,id be quite happy to share out about
200 between each of the 3 opponents to qualify for the next round presuming they get that far....

first one up is south korea at 13/8 to qualify for the next round

    am i missing anything here?

    any help much appreciated...

Most high street bookies are paying 1/2 (basically top two) on each way bets for the winner.

This is handy for calculating potential winnings.

So €760 back if they win. €255 back if they get to the final.

Your best bet is to lay some of it off on Betfair if you want to lock in some profit as they have a "to reach the final" market.

    thanks man

yeah its 1/2 on e/w ,so my 380 figure should have been 255 :) that changes the scenario quite a bit.....

dont have a betfair account so cant do that, ill hold off until after the korea game id say before i do anything...
