Can anyone tell me how much a taxi would cost from the Airport to Dartry?

Some people have quoted €40 but this seems high, as I used to pay €25 to Rathmines, just down the road!

    Thank you.

I work it out to be about 22 euro if you're on your own, have no bags and its before 8pm. Add extras for any of those items.

According to this the Airport to Dartry is approx 17Km.

    Look at the fares here:
    http://www.taxiregulator.ie/consumer/fare-information/national-maximum-taxi-fare.html

And it works out about 22 euro.

That €22 isn't allowing any slack for traffic, red lights, slow buses and trucks ahead etc of you. OP, as a driver I'd say €26-€27 day time and €3-€32 night rate; add an extra €3 in case of hold ups etc

No they are not .What ever gave you that impression ...Why would drivers double the fare?.
It seems there are a lot of myths and mistruths amongst many a customer.
No doubt you will get people on here saying they got a taxi from the airport and the fare was a million euros ect etc ,,But all fares are on the meter and there is NO doubleing of fares at all ,,
From the airport to Darty Id agree with above driver ,,approx 25-27 but take into account traffic ect plus if its Sunday or before 8am or after 8pm fare MAY be in the 30 euro mark ..

i was behind a taxi last week coming from the airport on the motorway and he was travelling very slowly and the only reason for it that i could see was bulking up the fare by taking longer to get to the destination! taxi drivers are not all honest johns!

If a taxi was driving on the Motorway at a speed to make the meter kick onto timed (less than 20KMH) he'd be rear ended by every other car on the road ;)

there is no extra charge for baggage, only extra passengers.

as posted above if he was driving slow the meter will still be calculating the fare on distance, so wheter it took him 1 hour or 2 hours, the fare would be the same aslong as he wasnt drving less than 20kmph or taking longer than a minute to cover 1km.

And breaking the law by travelling at less than half of the minimum speed limit.

I don't know how fast the taxi was going but the coach I was on came up behind him like a missile! I'd say if he was using his mirrors properly and saw us he probably soiled himself. The coach had to brake hard as it could not pull into the overtaking lane.

Maybe complain about the speed of the coach so .From what you said the coach driver was obviously driving too fast

I've had that before, a taxi up the M1 travelling at about 70km/h between the airport and Donabate. I think it says a lot about the proficiency of the driver. I told him to put the foot down and he laughed and said he doesn't like driving outside of the city!
