    From ...
    http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/uci-allows-disc-brakes-for-cyclo-cross?cid=OTC-RSS&attr=news_headlines

"The International Cycling Union (UCI) has approved disc brakes for competition in the 2010-’11 cyclo-cross race season. The ban was lifted via a newly issued document entitled, ‘Rule Amendments for Title 1,’ which was posted to USA Cycling’s website late Friday morning. "

don't disc's get hot? or is this only a feature on long descents?

Boo! What is this, mountain biking? FFS.

    The manufacturers will love this...

Yeaaah awesome! My commuter is a hybrid with discs and it's bloody impossible to get wheels for, there's just no market for 700c wheels with disc mounts - until now that is! Looking forward to upgrading to deep section carbon wheels and a carbon aero fork some time next year :D

Or maybe a new cross bike/tourer with discs to commute on... hmm!

I'll give you €11 and most of a bunch of grapes for your UJ. That's the best you're going to get for it, I suggest you take the offer immediately.

Mine takes disc brakes so I think I'll keep it. :)

TBH it'll make naff all difference in racing (for me anyway). Grip is the problem, not braking power. I'd rather spend the money on tubs.

I'd imagine most people would swap out the fork and just run a disk on the front? I would anyway.
