    Hi there,

Looking at the Honest John and Parkes website there and was looking at the specs of some car models. What I want to know is when they are calculating the top speed, weight of the car or how fast a car can get from 0 to 100km/h, Is this based on the fuel tank being fully filled, half filled or lightly filled? These factors would surely affect performance.

    Cheers in advance.

I always understood it to be the best of the best of everything. So the best driver, as little petrol as would be needed, the best temperature etc etc.

thats my understanding the quoted manufactureer numbers are all done at optimal conditions.. so little enough petrol to get tests done

Afaik volkswagens figures were traditionally done in more realistic conditions than most other manufacturers.

I all depends on the manufacturer. Mercedes used understate their 0-60 considerably. Not so much anymore though.

I'd say its only cars like Imprezas, Lancer Evo's, M3s etc that really strip it out and go hell for leather at it.
