    Anyone tried this?

    http://www.ejamming.com/

How do they deal with lag/latency?

I have been using ejamming frequently over the last few months. With their newest version, latency for the most part is a non-issue or only slightly noticeable when i am engaged in long distance (overseas) jams. Their technology has a way of syncing up players and compressing sound files for quicker transmission. Set up differs for everyone, for me it was a total breeze. I would definitely recommend trialing their software. On ejamming i get to play with a diverse group of players whenever i have free time. THis certainly beats playing all by myself or lugging all my gear and paying for studio time to jam with others.

Thanks for the info. Couple of questions.

What instrument do you play (guitar presumably, but is it electric or acoustic)? What kind of audio interface do you use with your computer with ejamming? Is the sound quality reasonable?

I mainly play electric guitar. I use the Line 6 Pod as a guitar processor and an Digidesign MBOX as an interface. I also hook up a microphone into the MBOX so i can speak to the players as well. The sound is CD quality. Listen for your yourself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wM8koT8bSc.
