    Hi,
Basically look for tips on how to get some size on my calves. I'm doing plenty of squats and deadlifts plus calf raises but my claves are lagging way behind other parts.

Anyone have a routine that has actually improved calf size?

    Thanks

I sure don't. If you find one that works do let me know.
However in my own research I did come across two effective 'methods':
Get new parents... Or inject large volumes of synthol.

And ballet dancers always have great calves, so taking up ballet could be an option, if you're not trying that already.

The only thing I can possibly suggest would be as mentioned above, have good genetics or cycling.

I cycled 180km a week for 5 years as a teen, I figured this, along with the genes helped in giving me the calves I have now. From what I've read and understood about anatomy, gaining any noticeable size in the Gastroc & Soleus is pretty damn tough and hard to find someone who knows how to effectively perform exercises for size increase.

    cycling.

    +1

There's also plate lift yokes for the frnt of your shins (tibialis)
which might increase the appearence in size of that area.

    Some more here.

Hey this is what has worked for me,i lift weights and dont have the inclination to cycle 180km a week as i will have awesome calfs and th rest of me will be scranny

Calf Raises,Use any calf rasie machine,or just grab a heavy dumbell or plate and stand on an edge and do fast, intense raises, try for 75,it should'nt take long, stop when you get a crazy burn and recover for a few seconds and keep going, pump them hard and extend full from top to bottom.
I promise if you do these right, your calfs will be sore for the following 5 days and after a a month you will start to see more meat on there.
Increase the weight and reps every week.
Calfs are hard to work, they are small fast twitch muscle fiber like the abs,so the lactic acid gets right in there easy and therefore you get a sweet burn! enjoy

What is your current height and weight? What are your 1 rep maxes for squat and deadlift? What program are you doing?

    What are your measurments?

I'm not sure how much stock to put in it but here is a couple of calculators to work out the ideal proportions for a man. The 2nd one is by Steve Reeves who looks pretty damn good to me.

If your calves are lagging based on the above. I would have a few ideas.
