    Paddy Power are offering Slovenia at 7/1 just to win England...

    Unless someone can provide me a valid reason why not...?

    Slovenia came out of a group with Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, they also had to get past Russia.

    The ball and climate are totally different. I think there's a phrase "all bets are off" that might be useful right now. Look at the upsets so far.... they're ridiculous.

    Wayne Rooney looks as if he's injured. It's not like England were all over Algeria for the 90 minutes, hitting it off the bar and "should have been a penalty" and whatnot. No, they were out and out ****!!!

    I think England will wake up and grind out a win during the week, They meet Germany then most likely and will get hammered there.

    Yeah it's his money but it could be someone else that provides some info he has overlooked or wasn't aware of that ultimately decides his actions. That's the whole purpose of a tip.

    I'd be more interested in PP having England at 11/10 still to win their group, whereas the USA are 2/1 and Slovenia are 12/5.

    US look a decent shout there to me.

    Serbia look big at 15/2 to win theirs too, considering their last match is against Australia while Germany and Ghana play each other.

    Absolutly no indication was made that it was a 'tip' from someone else.

    Do you want to thrown in any of a million other possibilities that might have happened? maybe someone read his tea leaves? maybe he seen an image in a turd? :rolleyes:

    It wasn't a tip from someone else, I think that guy is using the term "tip" a bit more loosely than you are there or making a general argument about tips.

    Regardless, I don't think it's that outlandish to discuss the value of odds on a betting forum.

    Why ask people to talk you out of a bet you fancy? What happens if you listen and then Slovenia(fingers crossed) so win?

    I thought maybe there was something I didn't know that the bookies and others knew, or something theory of what was going on that I didn't understand. Which is what this forum is about. If they did talk me out of it then I wouldn't fancy it. Slovenia might still win, I just wouldn't fancy them at those odds.

    He asks whether there was a valid reason why he should not take the bet. Let's say somebody posted up that they would not take it because so and so was injured and the other team have their top goalscorer back etc etc. I was using the term 'tip' generally but that info may change his mind. Or it may not. Regardless, he now has a bigger picture. We might as well do away with this forum then if people can't ask questions about bets since it's their money and their decision.

    A possible reason the why odds are high: Possibly Slovenia are expected to play for a draw. A draw would guarantee qualification, though it wouldn't guarantee they'd win the group; so it comes down to their philosophy really... (I've no idea what their philosophy will be, so I could be way off with this.)

    To be honest I would rather not give him any encouragement

    I just want to know if he is going to add anything useful to the forum

    So far most of his posts ahve just consisted of him telling us the driving principles of football

    Anymore of it will end with a banning as it has nothing to do with gambling

    i think i'm going to go for England seeing as Heskey won't be starting. They will do well under this sort of pressure and if they do loose there out of the wc and i won't be too unhappy. ;)
