Squeaking noise on Honda CRV

Its a 00 CRV. When turning corners, there is a squeaking, rubber-moving-against-metal type of noise, which is getting worse. One mechanic suggested it might be inner steering tie-rod joints in the steering rack, but I doubt this. Its quiet when driving in a straight line, so i suspect its steering related rather than general suspension.

    Any ideas ?

Had something similar on my car a few weeks back, turned out to be a balljoint in the upper wishbone but it could be anything including what the mechanic diagnosed. It really needs to be inspected to give a diagnosis
