The first thing you need to address is your diet.Post up what you would eat and drink on an average day. Also, look to incorporating both weight training and jogging to maximise fat loss and "tone" your body.

I doubt you'll lose 2 stone unless you're very overweight. But if you're not exercising at all then you'll see some results at least, best thing to do is just get started - the problem most people have is they talk about what they're going to do for ages but never actually get around to it.

You could try intervals - sprint for 2min, walk for 1 min etc. Don't waste your time on weights machines either, go straight for the free weights and kettlebells, tell your gym instructor(assuming you're in a gym?) you'd like help putting together a program based around the compound lifts and use youtube for tutorials. Google something like Starting Strength or Stronglifts to give you an idea - you could even just follow one of these. I don't have much exp with them, didn't have the patience for Stronglifts, but it's a good beginners program - especially if you're not confident about putting your own program together.

It's just really important that you have some structure instead of going in and running for a bit and then doing a few weights machines, you won't make much progress and you'll get incredibly frustrated.

If you put your mind to it I'm sure you'll be looking great by August :)

It's hard to jog with 2 stone extra, your back will kill you, so you'll probably end up walking which IMO isn't great. If you have a bike I'd suggest using that to get to work or somewhere you go daily. It's easier to push yourself on a bike. After you lose the 1st stone you will be in better condition and should be able to jog a few K or play a game of 5 a side.

Dietwise it's simple stick with a calory deficit, get your vits in, drink/eat nothing with added sugar. probably a 50/40/10 - protein/carb/fat ratio will give you the energy needed to shift the weight.

This is all from my experience losing weight. IMO the first stone will shift pretty quickly and weightloss will slow down as you lose it, the last 5lbs being a real test.

    Hiya,

Speaking from experience I have set goals mush like what you have outlined above. It took me a year to lose 3 stone, I was in the gym everyday and cut out all **** food.

Reaching your target is very unrealistic but it also depends on your current weight and where you hold your weight. The weight might come off easily as you will notice but 'toning' up is the hard part - it takes ages to build up tone up after you have initially lost the weight.

You have great motivation though and the first step is simple: get fit and eat healthy, drink lots of water and take vitamins, don't think about it too much and enjoy it.

You will see results soon, good luck :o
