I am moving house this weekend and currently have a SKY sub with normal Sky + Box. The new house has no dish. Do you think it would be better to cancel contract and start as a new customer. The present offer valid until 24th June is offering Free Sky + box, free installation and two months half price if one signs up on line. I also understand new customers now get Sky + HD box as standard even if not subscribing to Sky HD. Do they notice if the bank account happens to be the same as a previous Sub. ?
Any advice on how to ger the best deal from Sky while moving house would be appreciated.
    Thanks Guys

Thats what I wanted to do initially. After I threatened to cancel my account with SKY (have normal Sky 3 packs) they offered me a SKY+ HD Box for E59 in total (includes install)
Now, I accepted the offer 2.5weeks ago and had an install appointment today. I mentioned that I can only be available at home in the afternoon to 2 different Sky people but of course the installer calls me at 8:30am asking me if I am ready. I guess Sky and their installer just don't talk to each other.

So now I try again next Wednesday but Sky can not give you a time for the installers unlike UPC. So if I try to get home early again on Wed. and the installer calls again in the morning I will cancel SKY and go through an independent contractor. They have a e30 deal right now in most shopping malls and you just apply as a new customer.

If SKY cant get any installers working in the afternoon then just screw them.

Anyway, I was told by one of the mall sky guys that as long as you cancel your old account you count as a new customer. If you move and have a different address and give them a new phone number you just count as a new customer.

Also try to threaten to cancel first. They may give you a deal as they did for me. Well its only a deal if I ever get it installed.

    Good luck

Sky dont have Installers working for them on a weeks wage unlike UPC.
Sky use Sub/Sub contracters to carry out installs for them in Ireland the same as the Sky guys in the Malls. The Installer who received your details would have no way of Knowing that you requested your Install for Afternoon. These Installers work on commission and Probably start at the furthest install away from there house and work there way home. I am sure if you contact the contract company either
Sierra communications or Finlay communications and explain about your install maybe you might get a Install time that suits.
