Amazon prices change going into basket

I have emailed amazon about this myself but was just curious if it happens to anyone else - I was purchasing an item from amazon that was £82 on the product page, then in my basket it is £84, now I know thats not a big difference but I think if advertised on the product page as £82 then it should stay as £82 when I go to checkout. Before asking, the extra 2 squids isn't an addon price for packaging, postage etc., it's the actual price of the item.

    It's Irish tax.

VAT, to be more precise. Prices on Amazon.co.uk include UK VAT at 17.5%, but they are obliged to charge 21% for orders destined for Irish delivery.

It is also worth noting the free postage limit is £25 to here, but you might only need items worth £24 as the extra VAT might bump them over the £25 mark. I am not certain if the £25 free postage does take this into account though. Some member here made a firefox plugin so you would see Irish prices on amazon.
