Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don't over react. England put in two fairly poor performances but that doesn't make them useless, remember they still topped their qualifying group. Where are Spain? Currently bottom of their group after putting in a good performance against the Swiss and unluckily losing. They will be back. Argentina have put in 2 good performances but still have a lot of questions to answer.

    How exciting!
And who exactly were in their qualifying group? Andorra?! Bahaha! Look it here,Rooney ended the season with an injury and no form,Gerrard was brutal ALL last season,Lennon has no form,Wright-Phillips isnt a big time player, Heskey-just why! England are an AVERAGE football tem.

you must be watching different games

Argentina are clearly the best team thus far, Spain were utter c0ck against the swiss.

England were mostly brutal in their two games so far

    questions.?!
I'm presuming that's directed at me? I agree about England and Argies but people are definitely over reacting, after 2 group games nothing is won or lost.

Yes Argentina are the best team so far. Questions to answer defensively and tactically imo when they meet tougher opposition.

Spain played well against the Swiss and were unlucky, they will go far imo. One match gone.

People over reacted after Germany's win over Australia too.

I don't understand bigger teams having foreign managers. Maybe Ireland can be excused as we have a limited selection but England? It makes no sense. A decent manager would have realized that there is a shortage of creative midfielders in England. There's one - Theo Walcott. He's young, energetic, ambitious, creative, and in need of experience.

He's a headless chicken, all he can do is run with the ball. Sometimes he runs fast enough to be in a position to score but he doesn't really know what is going on.

Once he loses his pace he'll be playing in the Blue Square.

this is why everyone should bet with bookies who do
refund specials like pp and especially bet 365

    boyles are refunding on
    first/last/anytime goalscorer
score and win/player to score two goals
    hatrick/scorecast

Hundreds of miles West, and the stink of their complacency, and self-assuredness can be smelt wafting through the air lol! It's 11 men vs 11 men and there's not much pressure on Slovenia. Didn't a certain team who play in green beat Algeria 3-0 recently in a home friendly?

Some theories regarding the England performance:

    1. They were used to Terry being captain. While Gerrard has performed well in this role it could be having an effect on the team's performance

    2. Cole, Lampard and Terry have other things on their mind that are affecting their performances.

    3. Rooney is injured. Ferguson played him in critical Man Utd games when he hadn't fully recovered.

    Solutions:
Give the players some time off. They are tired after long Premiership/Champions League etc seasons. 2 days would help

Start with Defoe, Crouch & Cole. Drop Rooney. Keep him on the bench for 30 minutes - make him hungry

    big price

    1/2 england...no thanks
its looking more and more likely that theyre
    gonna ****e their pants

Very big price. Im only going on form so far. Slovenia have impressed me especially Birsa. good player. i cant see England upping their game for the last of the group stages, and even if they do manage a win and go through I'll be betting against them after that because they just do not look like a proper team at all. A big team would destroy them.

I can, and im pretty sure they will up their game, i reckon they'll scrape through and play Germany next round where they will get destroyed, on the pitch and then after by their own media circus.

I think Rooney is very over-rated but one thing he does do is give his all. I don't think he desrves to be booed off the pitch by his own fans. General consensus seems to be that the English players were nervy and couldn't handle the pressure, their own fans booing them off the pitch will not help that.

Comparing their performance with France's versus Mexico, at least the English players looked like they cared. The fans deserve to be packing their bags next week imo.
