How cheap and how cheerful do you want it?

Myself, Bob the Builder and other people who know Westport have repled to similar posts before. You could scroll thru those.

The Tourist Office in Westport will give you infomration as will Pat Ayleward of Atlantic Coast HIolidays re the large amount of self catering accommodation in Westport.

    Enjoy

You will pay through the nose for accommodation in Westport on weekends. A two night b&b hotel package can cost more than €300 even in the most basic hotels. Check out some of the bed and breakfasts but even most of these are hotel prices. A dear little town during the summer.

Of course it will be more expensive. Higher Demand = Higher prices. Coupled with the fact Westport is a "tourist town" and by such only makes it's only money during the summer. And for the rest of the year is dependent on two or three factories.

With regard to cheap and cheerful, are you only coming for the piss up? There's a pub called The Islander with budget accommodation and by budget, I mean basic and cheap. But since there are so much places for accommodation, then I'll need to know more before I can point you in any direction...

I think we need a Westport accommodation sticky?

Some of my friends were quoted €65 sharing last weekend so shop around. Fewer B&Bs these days and a lack of hostels in the town. The town is full of foreign tourists at the moment and the hot weather is packing out the hotels with groups coming down for the weekend.

I'd recommend Allendale B&B (098-26688) very close to town centre, less than 5min walk, good breakfast, very good value for money.

Stayed in the wyatt hotel in the middle of town a few months ago brilliant value- room rate of 50euro if booked online also they were doing a 50 euro menu- dinner for two (3 courses) and a bottle of wine! Cant beat it!
