I have the above product but if I rip a dvd and put the film on it doesn't fill the tv screen. I have to zoom in to fill the screen but they you cant use the controls then unlike if I download a movie it fill the screen perfectly. I want to know what ripping software is best and what settings I need to use to avoid this…

Try HandBrake - handbrake.fr with the Normal profile set.
