Hi guys, i drive a 2.2i-ctdi Honda Accord Sport, how often should i change the oil?? every 4 or 5000 miles!?

i also read in the manual it is to be 0w40 oil is to go into her, would it be terrible if i used 5w30 instead as the 0w40 in 120e for the 6litres!!!!

No need to change it that often 9000 miles should be ok. But definitely use the recommended oil.

The manual should tell you the oil change intervals. Stick to the manufacturers' oil spec.

The interval is 12,000 miles (or 12,500 / 20,000 kms). A change will take about 5.4 litres.

Only used 0w30 and I recommend you get it from Honda. These engines are super fussy about their oil.

Just realised - time warp ahead.

    Thanks for response.

Yes the reason I am asking is I can only get 4l drums off Castrol Edge 0w-30.
Would 4l suffice for a complete oil change ?

Nope, absolutely not. It can take up to 5.9 litres. I just realised, I typed 4.5 and not 5.4 litres!

BTW - it needs 0w30 full synthetic oil. Don't skimp.

    Buy 12.

Aye, it'll do you for the next service and you'll probably burn some along the way.

Try Honda in Clonskeagh. Seriously, there we doing a special on a service pack including oil, filter, pollen filter for €65 or there abouts.

    Bloody hell! It is expensive.

Micksgarage has 5l of Total Quartz 9000 for €38.20

So, roughly €8 / litre. That would mean 6 litres is about €46. Plus an oil filter say €10 and air filter say dunno another €10? €65 looks about right then.

The Castrol is €58 in Halfords (-10% with Axa card).

Good shout on Micks Garage. I can get 6 litres of Quartz 0w30 there for €46 as opposed to €99 for Castrol in Halfords.
