I met a polish guy last work I used to work with,he left the country in December 2008,he told me he was only here to sign on for JA,I was shocked to hear this and I would like to report him,the problem is I only know his first name and the name of the last place he worked in,is this enough information for the social welfare to work on.

If the local office he goes to do their job right it will be incredibly difficult for him to sign on. Also, the fact that he hasn't been in Ireland since 2008 means he really hasn't a chance.

havnt contacted social yet,he has definately left the country, met a another polish guy who worked with us,and he said yes he comes over once a month to sign on.When he left work he was getting his dole money paid in to his bank account under the old system, maybe this is how he can commit fraud so easy.

You have to report him because he is the reason that ordinary irish folk who have lost jobs cant get it paid into bank accounts. it really bugs the hell out of me when I hear stories like this

Report him, they'll have no prob finding him, he has left a paper trail by flying regulary into the country, they'll throw the book at him, no harm.

Just one thing if he left the country in 2008, his stamps would be used up and he would have been means tested, including a home visit?

Looks like none of this was done, if he wasn't even in the country.

Also, what address is he using, he must be getting his post forwarded to him. The person sending this on would be an accessory.

If only,,,,, thought the bosses in SW had a way of "improving services" i.e. interviewing in the office and not asking too many questions lest they offend someone

as regards visits to peoples homes,i know know plenty of people getting jsa and they never received any visits,he has plenty of polish friends here,i know for a fact that a lot of the polish people getting jsa go home between signing dates and they get their friends to collect their payments in post office, the post office never asks for id,so no problem, the whole thing is a disgrace.

Yesterday you knew one Polish person who told you he was defrauding the State. Today, you know for a fact that there are plenty of Polish people doing the same thing. You are making allegations which noone on this site can prove or do anything about. Report the matters
    http://www.welfare.ie/EN/ContactUs/Pages/reportfraud.aspx
and let the cases be investigated.

Thats why i like to see a photo on the sw card
If a unemployed gets a new job he/she hasto show the same card with photo to the new employer
The employer must take a copy of the sw card why???

Well in 2009 i was on jsb im applying for jsa now
Someone used my pps number in 2009 and worked somewhere in dublin on my name
Sw says i have worked and got jsb in the same time
Have to pay back those 6 mnths or bring in the proof it wasnt me who had worked there
Got for this all one month to solve and in the meantime i got nothing paid
    The whole system sucks
Have worked in other countries and have to bring in ur id if u apply for jobs benefits or houses even to open/connect to utilities
    like esb eircon ect ect
Know here guys who had a esb acc on name A with 2500 eu debts on it
They moved house and opened a new acc on name b

Impossible he has to prove he didnt left the country the last two years
They will ask for bank statements rentbook utility bills ect
if he got his payments in his bank account they will see those
If he took out his money in Poland or once a month around signing day he got a problem

you should definitely report him, it's just not on, most ppl in this country have to wait up to nine weeks to get JSA, and those who don't even live here get paid and get away with it.

    to answer Original Question.

First name and last place worked is probably enough to find this guy, more so if you know which office he is signing at, as that will drop the catchment pool.

What will happen is that they will find the people with that first name who worked for the company. They will probably look at any matches and check them all. They may then look at everyone who is claiming from that address, as if one is doing it, there may be more.

So go ahead and report it. It might take six months to be looked at, but it will be looked at. maybe quicker if you report directly to releveant LO
