Have NCT tomorrow and the SRS light is on. Will I fail? Went to a garage this evening and guy hooked it up to computer but it wouldnt work. Someone suggested taking the bulb out but it seems impossible.

    Any help or suggestions?

I think it is a failure. Have a look for the connections under the front seats. Sometimes if you have rear passengers they can kick the connection with their feet by accident and dislodge the contact.

To be honest I would be more concerned as to why the light is on rather than whether it will pass or fail the NCT. It might be a simple fix like above or it could mean that your SRS system is not functioning, which is not good if the car is involved in a collision.

If the light's on then the SRS system is definitely not functioning - it disables itself as a safety measure if it senses a fault.

Ive passed the test with the light on myself, but i know of people who have been pulled on it.
If it does turn out to be a wire in the seats/seatbelts/side airbags etc it doesn't mean it'll automatically go out if you reconnect it. more often than not it'll still need to be reset even when you find the problem.

    What kinda car is it?

yeah what car? with the new nct guidelines. all warning lights must work with ignition on and must go off on engine starting...
