EVENT

A 1200 km trip around the country to raise money for the Barretstown, traveling through 20 counties in total as we make the long trip around the county to show our support for Barretstown.
We will be stopping off in Letterkenny on the Saturday night and Killarney on the Sunday night to relax and talk about the days travel.
A great chance to get to know your fellow boards members, a great way to see the country and at the same time raise money for a cause that affects everybody in one way or another.

ABOUT BARRETSTOWN

Each year there are 12,000 new cases of childhood cancer in Europe. Barretstown can currently help up to 1,600 children and family members each year. The fact is, we could help many more children cope with the emotional trauma of serious illness, if only we had the funds. We have the facilities, we have a first-class programme which changes the lives of sick children.

Now all we need is your help.

Your gift, however small, will directly help children with serious illnesses rediscover the wonder of childhood.


THE COST

To take part in the event a deposit of €200 per person is required. This will get you your sponsorship pack for raising money and will cover your accommodation in Letterkenny and Killarney.
This will guarantee your place on the event. We realise that this deposit may be a tad on the high side but we are traveling on a busy bank holiday weekend and Hotel rates are high even for a charity event.
If there is enough interest in cheaper alternatives such as hostels then we may look to that as an alternative.

The deposit must be paid before July 1st to guarantee your place.

PAYING THE DEPOSIT

You can pay your deposit to any of the following boards members:

Draffodx - North East Area

Quazzie- Offaly, Westmeath, Laois, and Kildare

Onkle - South Dublin

You will get a receipt for the deposit.

A thread will be started where we will ask only people serious about talking part to post there user name and from there the deposit can be paid, a record will be kept on the thread as to who has paid the deposit.

For others outside the mention area's we will work something out on the deposits thread.

Deposits Thread

RAISING SPONSORSHIP

The task for sponsorship is to raise money for every kilometer your going to cover. So the idea is to get 50c for every kilometer your going to cover.

1200km = €600 sponsorship (but the more you raise the better)

So people will be sponsoring you for every kilometer your going to cover.

The goal is to raise €600 but the more you can raise the better. To encourage the raising of more money for every €100 a person raises they will be receive a ticket for a prize draw.

FUEL COSTS

Fuel costs will be left entirely up to individuals.
To cover fuel costs individuals can look into getting some sponsorship for there fuel costs separate to raising the sponsorship money for the event.

CONDUCT ON THE EVENT

All participants will be fully responsible for there own conduct during the event, whether it be driving on the roads or staying at the hotels, by attending the event participants agree to not do anything during the event to bring the name of All The Way Round or its organisers into disrepute. Anyone found doing so will be ejected from the event without any deposits being returned.


THE ROUTE

The total route distance is Approximately 1200 kilometres, spanning 3 consecutive days on the weekend of the 31st of July 1st & 2nd of August
All The Way Round will depart Liffey Valley shopping centre car park and travel all the way round Ireland taking in 20 counties in an epic drive that is as enjoyable as it is enduring.

Highlights along the route include the coastal road in Northern Ireland, driving through the west, and the Scenic return to Dublin along the East coast and over the stunning Wicklow mountains.

Day 1 Dublin - Letterkenny
Depart Liffey Valley Shopping centre heading North on the M1 bypassing Belfast and travelling on the coastal road taking in Larne, Ballycastle, Coleraine and on to Derry City before arriving at our destination for day one – Letterkenny.
A reserved area in a local club will be provided where we will enjoy the night, and all that Letterkenny has to offer.

Day 2 Letterkenny – Killarney
Depart Letterkenny and travel south through Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Clare, Limerick, before arriving in Killarney, Co. Kerry.
Again reservations will be made at a local club where we will enjoy the night and the festivities surrounding the Irish Open.

Day 3 Killarney – Dublin
Departing Killarney early we travel east to Cork, onto Waterford, then head North through Gorey, and across the mountains via Glendalough and Laragh before returning to our destination at the Liffey Valley shopping centre.

Disclaimers

1)We have only just sent off our application to the ICS so we hope to have our official link with them in the coming weeks but in the case that the ICS don't process the event in time the event will still take place and the money handed over. The only difference is we will not be able to advertise as an official charity linked with the ICS.

2)All participants will be fully responsible for all legalities with taking part in the event. This includes but is not limited to being fully and properly insured to drive in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, Having a full valid Irish driving license, responsibility for your conduct and behavior on public roads, being aware of the legal rules of the road and taking responsibility for any breaking of said rules.

3)All participants will be responsible for their conduct on the event to other participants, the general public and the staff at the places we attend or stay. Anyone who is found to be abusive, offensive or in anyway causes hassle on the event will be removed from the event with no refund of the deposit or the sponsorship money.

4)All participants will be responsible for the condition of their vehicle for the event, the vehicle must have but not limited to the following a valid NCT cert if required, must be properly insured, must be taxed and must be of roadworthy condition.

5)The event is being planned by normal people who have never done this before, things haven't gone as smoothly as we hoped and the event is going to be a learning experience for all involved. The event is the first one of what we hope will be a yearly thing and so we expect to build it up over the years. We hope participants will keep this in mind and help us build up a great event.

6)The organisers of the event take no responsibility for anything that may occur during the event, it is up to each individual to make sure they have adequate insurance or other legal requirements to protect against any event that may occur during the trip.

7)The organisers reserve the right to refuse admission to the event to any person without assigning and reason. The organizers decision in this matter will be final.

8)The above is not an exhaustive list of disclaimers, and all decisions in regard to anything outside the scope of this post made by the All The Way Round team are final.
