Applied Biology (Level 7) vs. Pharmaceutical & Forensic Analysis (Level 8)

Hoping for some advice from anyone who has done these courses.

I just completed first year in Pharmaceutical & Forensic Analysis (Level 8), but I'm not all that set on the course. I might have an option of dropping straight into second year of Applied Biology (Level 7). I do have more of an interest in biology but am sceptically about the level 7 title. Should I be?

I'm also slightly worried about going into second year and being the odd one out :p e.g. everyone else will have lab partners etc.

Any advice would be great :)
