    Hey,

    I was involved in a car accident a few weeks ago,the insurance company want to settle 50:50, just wondering does it ever work out at 70:30 or 80:20 contributory neglience?(both insured with same company) The insurance told me thats isnt possible its never happened before :confused: I find this hard to believe but im not sure were to look to find more information.I believe the other party was considerably more at fault n prehaps should even be done for dangerous driving. It just seems like the insurance company want to take the easy way out.

    The insurance company is hussling you both, so that you can both lose your no cliams bonuses.

    Unequal distribution of blame (100:0 being common) is a regular feature in court, just never when there is a single insurance company invovled who want to cut down the paperwork.

    Two main options:

    1. Leave it run and lose your no claims bonus and have an accident record if you move to another company or

    2. Fight it, but realise that you may be partly at fault.

    A short chat with an actual, real life solicitor might be useful.
