Common Sense. Where do it come from?

On a recent holiday we were blessed with having one of those couples who seem to appear everywhere we did. This couple had 2 children, girls to be around 3 and 5 years old precise and this is where the trouble starts.
    1. The parents never interacted with the kids it was all "Come Here" "leave it alone" "Get down". You wouldn’t talk to a bad dog that way.
    2. The youngest child saw a dog and exclaimed Bow Wow dada, I thought at that age it would be known as a dog.
    3. At the beach they parked themselves on two deck chairs at the end of the ramp so everyone had to walk around them to get to the beach. When they left the place was full of fag butts and other rubbish.
    4. In the car I spotted the parents smoking and the 2 kids jumping around the back seat and no seat belts on.
The parents didn’t have much common sense, will this rub off on the kids?

The kids will be your next door neighbours in 16 years, will act the same as the parents, and will also have kids already. The eldest boy shall be called mondo (junior) and the girls will be called beyonce and lady gaga. They will also express a fondness for tracksuits and stella, as well as cheap gold jewelry with real cubic zirconia diamonds.

There's a difference between ignorance and lack of common sense

I don't know...when you went on holidays when you were a kid did your folks spend their entire time judging others?....that might answer your question.

Common Sense. Where does it come from?

Judging by the spelling & grammar of the original title you can't really afford to throw stones :p

OP , you should get a refund on that holiday because clearly you didn't find time to relax and enjoy yourself with all that passing judgement you were doing.

Bet your parents were in the neighbourhood watch.

You sound like a curtain twitcher too :pac:

Common sense should have told you to mind your own business and enjoy your own time.

I was only messing. They had a player called Georgie Welcome yesterday so it wouldn't surprise me had they a Common Sense playing for them too. Crazy Honduran bastards!

the 3 year old discribed a dog as 'bow wow', well that on its own is enough for the social services to intervene

Probably, and the fact that you were staring at them for the entire holiday might have an effect on them too

Ah thats not fair, at the beach we had to divert around them to get on to it and you could but not hear them barking at the two girls whose names are that of 2 members of a girl band who I wont mention incase they read this and come after me.
The poor children were begging them to go down to the sea and do you think the lazy boned parents would be bothered going down with them.
No, they just sat there shouting at them to "Get Out" etc.
They just seamed to pop up everywhere we were.

I don't know...when you went on holidays when you were a kid did your folks spend their entire time judging others?....that might answer your question.

That's what a holiday is to some people, the freedom to sit around & judge others all day long :pac:

Lets apply the OP's stellar logic back on him/her shall we...?

Do you think that the OP's parents, when they went on holiday back yonder, sat around by the pool all day interacting with him/her as a child pointing out how other people spent their time by the pool? Do you think that would have affected the OP?

If only you could get a poll going in someone else's thread :pac:

So you're not really that concerned about their lack of "common sense" and how their children will fare, it was just a smokescreen for your judgemental rant?

What's to agree with , you spent your holiday observing another families dynamic and more worryingly their kids.

Common sense would have been not to start a stupid thread

Ok. From now on I wont look at or observe anyone or anything anywhere.
I will walk down the street looking at the footpath.
When I go to the beech I will wear ear plugs in case I hear some family barking orders at their little ones. I will wear welder’s goggles in case I might see people doing things. I will not look at cars and so not noticing parents smoking with young kids in the back, even though the car is a few feet away then by noticing that the kids had no seat belts jumping around the back. I will never start a stupid thread ever again especially in AH, anyway this is my first ever thread that I have had trouble on.
