My Picks are for the Thursday...

    1pt Wins

    Norfolk - Dubawi Gold
Big fan of the Dubawis and can see why anyone wouldn't be. I like this fella and think that he's a little over priced because he has a 2 beside his name. Genuine excuses for that and not beaten by far or by a slouch. Should put in a bold show on a flatter track.

    Ribblesdale - Pipette
3rd to Snow Fairy last start and Baldings decision to step her up to the 12f will see her improve again. Shes got a high draw which is not ideal but showed a sounder surface gave her no problems. Enough experience to cope and a reasonable price to take.

    Gold Cup - Aklaam
Horse tends to be ridden prominantly and Richard Hills is one of the best at doing that. Pulled out more to see of challenger over 16f and though stamina is a worry, he has an excellent record on firmer surfaces and makes him harder to catch. If he gets the trip he might suprise.

    Hampton Court - Afsare
He's been impressive on all his starts and I've backed him on them all. He was a guaranteed winner off his debut and his last performance was most impressive. I'll take him to defy the 3lbs penalty and keep progressing. The fact he's another Dubawi makes it even more attractive.

Broadly speaking higher drawn horses over the mile appears to be the call. Something to bear in mind

Tricky to pick out winners today. As I said in the other thread,Zebedee in the first could oblige at 9/2

Really Like Traffic Guard Today, at 20/1 EW, looks good mark and maybe a class above most of these..

Webbow, Very good mark and low draw may not be that much of a disadvantage, well capable of doing something of this mark. 20/1 EW

Have to have a tiny Bet on Famous at 180w30place, 30 to place is to big, for a talented filly who could on her day place here.

    .

I know above had trouble in running last time, however i dont feel he is a class above the rest here, maybe you can explain why you like him so much

He is super consistant in higher class races, Listed and g3, but his mark looks half decent, 20/1 looks too big ew, id put him at 10 or 12/1 at most.. He is not really giving lumps of weight away to what look like rivals with inferiour form.. Just looks overpriced really..

I know nothing about horses but decided to pick 4 for a yankee y'day and 2 came in

    I picked Zebedee(7/2) Hibaayab(11/2) Sea Lord (11/1) Dandino (7/1)

so made few quid on it :) I've picked 3 for a patent today so keepin my fingers crossed

At first sight (11/4) Anna Salai (6/1) Kingdom of Fife (10/1)

    Couldn't get away from the next 3 fav's - Lillie Langtry (4/1), Rainbow Peak (2/1) and Mikhail Glinka (9/4) - 3 x €10 win, and a €10 treb.

Mind you, probably end up doing better with my 2 small each ways in the 5.35 since most bookies are paying five places... €2.50 each way on Dubai Dynamo at 25/1, and same on Kiwi Bay at 20/1.....

Holy fcuk balls! Nicely done Ghost!

    47/1 treble!

Sorry to say I was on Corsica for a double with Monterosso, knowing you got that up makes it a lot easier :D

    Monterosso's the man!

I said he'd be a Group winner after he won a maiden at Lingfield. He'll win a Group 1 of some sort yet.

    Golden Jubilee

    Starspangledbanner - 4pts ew @ 14/1 (Ante-post, 5 places)
I'm kind of worried about the ground now that its riding so fast. He's never been on anything this quick as far as I know. Won't make a difference to my bet now though...

    Sayif - 1pt ew @ 40/1
This fella loves if hard and fast. His record on GF reads 23211. He won a Group 2 over course and distance last year beating High Standing. He reappearance this year was disappointing at Haydock but hopefully he'll come on for the run and finish in the places.

    Hardwicke

    Redwood - 0.5pt ew @ 20/1
Seen at his best on fast ground and has improvement left in him being only raced 5 times and stepping up to 1m4f for the first time. For what looks like a battle for places with Harbinger in good form he has the scope to maybe take advantage if Harbinger hits a blip.

    Wokingham

    Noverre to Go- 1pt ew @ 14/1
Having backed Himalya 1pt ew at 40/1 for the Hunt Cup (I'd like to see him at 8f) I've already watched their race back. Noverre to Go beat him by a half length last time and he's boosted the form by running second in the Buckingham Palace yesterday. Good draw, should be well positioned, goes on any ground and has a winning chance.

Knot in Wood, 3:25 Ascot, Way to big at 60 win and 10 place on betfair, its his second run this year, has a good 7lbs claimer on board and would it really be a 60/1 surprise. Has ran well of this mark in handicaps before.. Mid draw should be fine.

Marchand DOr, Ascot 3:25, just cant work the race out, has a great draw (possibly), first run this year was good, looks overpriced to me.. 20/1 ew

Barshiba Ascot 3:05, Much better on Good/Firm going, doesnt seem much behind many of these on form and looks overpriced at 33/1 EW

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 691 ✭✭✭ghosttown

Four great days, maybe i should count my winnings and stick to the world cup for the rest of the month............but gonna chance each ways and an ew double on all the K's today... Kaldoun Kingdom and Kinsale King... (and a small ew L15 with these two and Submariner and Munsef)...
    Good luck all !

Martyr, has hit 13 on betfair, and considering he placed in this last year of around the same mark, and looked in super form last run, and stable in form.. Ascot 5:00
