Spanish was so easy! Probably the easiest out of them all. The listening and letter were really good.

Hey does anyone know why the airoplane was delayed?

Hey does anyone know why the airoplane was delayed?

niebla i think it said which is Fog

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,321 ✭✭✭Jackobyte

Ya, I had fog for the plane delay as well and holding pens and pencils for estuche. Tape was the easiest I've ever done. Section C of it was a bit hard but I understood everything else.

I was happy with the paper in general, I'd be confident of a good grade.

No! They'd fail you because of it! (even if it is more accurate than what I said:P)

Was the plane being delayed not "nieva" (snow)?

Would it be possible to learn Spanish and take the exam for June 2012?? I know nothing ATM and I will be teaching myself. I might take 1 or 2 grinds to learn the layout of the paper etc. BTW I'm doing French and German already

Are you serious? How do you think you're going to just pick up the grammar and vocab without any help (Aside from "1 or 2 grinds to learn the layout of the paper")? Would strongly recommend you think about this a bit more.

Nothing is impossible but seriously, where did you get the idea that you can teach yourself an entire language with no additional help? And why would you be doing another language when you're already doing French and German? If you're doing your JC do you not already have enough subjects to be going on with? Sorry I don't mean to be so blunt, but I don't know how or why you have this idea that you can learn Spanish from a book/CD with no help from people who actually know what they're talking about.

There's only so much about a language you can learn from a book. Good luck, that's all I'll say, you're going to need it.

It wouldn't be impossible but don't be expecting an A from it. You could always just learn it for yourself and not sit an exam on it?

From what I have seen, it isn't miles apart from French (both have Latin roots) so there would be a bit of a crossover there which would be a help with verb structures/similar
grammar and vocab. This might also work against you. The similarity in places and differences in others might be more confusing than starting without French. In the time, you would still have to know 6 or 7 tenses including the common irregulars in each of those tenses. (Be able to use about 5 and understand/recognise another 2.)

If you are exceptional at languages and can pick them up easily, go for it. If you are average enough at them, you could still try but don't be expecting great results. A lot goes for the aural aspect of the test (45% IIRC) which really does involve a lot of practice. I found the tapes that came with the book read way slower than the actual in-test tape so use the exam papers for learning that.
