    And Morality.
Also, doesn't world religions usually likes to appear somewhere in the paper.

My brothers friend got a mark in his CSPE mocks for answering the question 'what is law' with 'this is against my religion'

    Do that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭Monsieur Folie

    Eh, its religion.

Its just a matter of how well you can relate things back to God.

Stewardship: Taking care of the environment.

Stewardship (in religion): Taking care of the environment on behalf of God.

Also, for the essay, like the OP said, know Ghandi or Luther. I know Luther from history fairly well, so I'll probably use him.

Edit: Question; can you use Martin Luther from history, or was the OP referring to Martin Luther King? Best go over my Ghandi stuff then, just in case..

Yeah me too, love a bit of morality. Its so ambiguous, you can say anything really as long as you wrap it back around to God somehow.

Myself, and two others in the class are atheist. The rest are christian. The three of us ALWAYS top the class.

I dont believe in god either and I think atheists know more about religion than most normal people.

I did the question in history today about how certain aspects of life changed over time and I picked religion, but I was afraid of beng a bit offensive or come off as anti-religious haha.

I said how Irish people are more relaxed with religion nowadays and violence and discrimination between protestants and Catholics has been subsided.

I dont do the religion exam, but we have religious classes. Had a very, very nice teacher

Exactly. In the exam, I sometimes pretend to be christian so I don't come off as offensive, and other times I just speak from a non judgemental type of view. Either works..

Very good idea - last thing you want to do is come across as ignorant in the exam paper. i correct this subject each year and students who think they are being funny or snart or say its a waste of a subject do not do well

Yeah, I always reckon its best to keep personal opinions to yourself in religion because its very easy to appear blasphemous or something.

my theory with religion is that knowledge is generally inversely proportional to belief xD the other girls at the top of my class are atheist or orthodox christian (yeah not too far off Catholic in fairness...but still) or, in my case, Humanist :P

Yeah even though I'm Humanist I take on the mindset of an uber spiritual and religious old lady for the exam xD and it totally works...

Sure whatever it takes to get the most marks! However, I must state that it is irrelevant want you believe or don't believe. You cannot be marked down for being athiest or marked up for being super religious!
What I meant is don't be smart eg people who believe in the creation story are thick for example. Anyone who believes in God is ghey etc! Remember it's an exam use your information, if it wasnt said to you in class or in your textbook chances are it may not be suitable. My tip to my students is always relate it back to religion/faith etc. Sounds simple but believe me many forget to do so especially in section 5.

Best of luck - make sure you answer section 5 as it is quite easy to pick up marks here and stick to the allocated time!

It's always the people who are the least religious, who don't just go along with the whole thing, that do the best in this subject. Probably because they actually think about it all.;)

Could not agree more! I got away without studying in the pres and managed to grab an a. This?? Not so much... :D i really hope I get a C tho
we never even did a community of faith in ireland!! We did taize, wcc, svp but we never did one in ireland :/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,622 ✭✭✭Kevin!

thought it was pretty easy, and we pretty much had a non-existant religion teacher in first and second year.

For the place of religious importance in Ireland, I just did the Mosque in Clonskea as we did it as our major world religion so it was probably the easiest one to do.

Don't do this subject  Good luck all :D

Well aren't you just lucky! Its an awful subject. :( At least I'll never have to do it again!! \o/ :D:D:D
