I just arrived yesterday and I need internet
    I
have a Sony Erricsson X10 which i would like to use as a modem for my laptop.

Im only here for 6weeks so i need some prepaid thing.

Is it possible to buy a simcard with ect 10gb of use on, and what are the prices?

It is not that simple with phone/mobile broadband deals here as it is in my home country.

Cant I just buy a phone simcard with 10gb data on or what would be the best cheapest thing for me to do?

Go to the Carphone Warehouse, they sell all the SIM brands. I don't think you'll get a 10GB add on, possibly just 5GB on pre-pay.

The networks are generally over subscribed here, especially Three. The best is probably Meteor, though coverage is sparse. Next best is Vodafone, then O2.

would it be possible to get anything for a 10'er or 15 euros which lasts for about a month.

It is really a jungle as you here in Ireland have a completely other system of charging people for their phone use.

I just need a simcard which can give me enough data for some webcaming with me girlfriend back home in Denmark, some emailing and offcause some World Cup streaming.

here are all the following price plans and all networks :

    o2
    1 day pass 3.97euro 500mb data
    30day pass 19.90euro 5GB data

    vodafone
    1 day pass 3uro 500mb data
    week pass 10euro 2GB data
    30 Day pass 20euro 5GB data

    meteor
    1 day pass 3euro 500mb data
    30 day pass 20euro 7.5 GB data

    3
    1 day pass 5euro 500mb data
    week pass 10euro 2GB data
    montly pass A: 15euro 1GB data
monthly pass B:25 euro 7.5GB data
monthly pass C:35 euro 20GB data

in my opinion meteor's signal would be worst of all proivders as they are still currently upgrading their network

Off those Vodafone seems like the best option.

But do they just supply me with a simcard then for that price, because so far I looked at all the networkplans and they all want me to purchase a modem along with it.

It will work in my phone right? and my phone should be able to get on the internet also right?

Anyone know a place where I can buy it near Dublin 18 Leopardstown?

Vodafone don't do SIM only except for Phone plans which have lower data caps. If you want the higher Broadband data cap you have to get a modem.

I had a visitor who recently wanted temporary access while touring. We found Meteor was the best option - they do "refurbished" Modems for €19.99.

You can purchase any of the Vodafone prepay addons on any prepay number be it a modem or mobile number.

Meteor is the best option if you are hanging around big towns , Vodafone for rural visits in the arse end of nowhere. 3 in certain arse end of nowheres. So in a nutshell, it depends :)

O2 ( on balance) worst but you could luck out in a quiet 3g cell or be stuck with a 20k EDGE 2g signal.

But still i dont need the modem, It will be useless after the 6weeks stay so i would rather if i did not have to buy one.

5gb data is also fine, im not that picky there atm

Look at the Three 'like home' ( I think its called ) offering ( is it offered by Three DK ? ) and then consider getting a Three Denmark handset and top it up over there. Please post what you find. Bet its miles less costly than what Three.ie offer
