Myself and two friends played there last month. It was a windy day which never helps. It was our first time there. We payed 3o euro early bird, which is seriously good value for such a quality course. If you can drive the ball very straight go for it but otherwise a long iron from most tees on the front nine. Long par threes. The greens are well kept and fast. Lots of trouble for wayward shots. The back nine, I found, is a bit more forgiving for not so straight drives.

All in all a great experience. When you come to the castle midway through the back it's magic. We had a nice pint of Guinness on the terrace to finish. Fantastic spot.http://b-static.net/vbulletin/images/smilies/smile.gif

They'll have a look at their time sheet for October, November and December, see it’s a little quieter than the previous summer months and put out a rumour that its closing at the end of the year to fill the sheet but in the last hour decide against it and open again for another 12 months….

Hope it does stay open, fantastic track, haven’t played this year for some reason or other.

Played it saturday with a society for 40quid and yesterday with my mates for 30quid. Cracking course, weather was perfect both days which made it even more enjoyable. Played off the green tees on saturday which made some holes considerably easy so played off the whites yesterday, much better, one of the par 3s is 200yards over water as opposed to 160 with the water taken out of play. Scored better off the whites!
