Have some common ones that are recommended e.g. Race for the Galaxy, Agricola, Blue Moon.

Anyone recommend any other ones that have enough variety you can play for a while without getting bored/repeats?

    Block Mania was brilliant.

Based on a Judge Dredd storyline. Two massive apartment blocks wage war against each other.

Hi there, there are a couple of neat card games for two people:
    Lost Cities
    Battle Line
I am a big fan of both.

On the more traditional board game front, Carcassonne works great for two players and it also handily supports more if they show up.

Depending on what you are in to, most war games are two player too (eg Twilght Struggle)

Must look up the others though, cheers!

Lord of the Rings - The Confrontation: Very good two player game but with a lot of special rules, so if you don't play it regularly you tend to forget them.

Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage This is at the heavier end of things. Takes a few hours to play but very well designed and interesting. Worth downloading some of the rules summaries from boardgamegeek to help you play as the rules are quite dense. You will probably play it wrong the first few times. :)

hmm, might be good if this forum is starting up to have a "recommended games" thread or sth as I can imagine this question getting asked repeatedly!

Have Mr. Jack...have heard of Pandemic but not tried it. Havent tried those 'war' type games, must give them a try out too!

Off the top of my head................the Command and colors range of games is for 2 people , and fairly easy to learn.Read some of the reviews below to see if its for you.

Battlelore and memoir44 are also good 2 player games.

With all these boardgames you can go online or make up your own senarios,so the playability is endless.

Runequest is a game that can be played with one of more players.

Your best bet is to check out boardgamegeek as there is lots of advice on which games are suited to 2 players

Think there was a way to buy 2 other blocks and have a 4 way battle.
