Any issues on Vodafone DSL this morning ?

    Morning !

From home (vodafone DSL) I was unable to access kotaku.com, facebook, twitter, gmail partially loaded , but I could connect to boards.ie, rte.ie (irish sites). I did a tracert on kotaku and it dropped on the 4th hop, but picked up again 2 hops later, and then just dropped completely. I'm using google DNS and it had no issues doing lookups.

I'm now in work (eircom ISP), also using google DNS, and all of the above sites work fine. Just curious if its a vodafone router issue ? or if anyone else is having issues.

Same issue in the midlans with Vodafone. I'm not happy and this better be sorted out soon.
Just entered into a contract with them. Im an Ejjit.

Edit: Using OpenDns done nothing. Still no sites working properly outside of ie domain. Even the ie domain loads slow.
    FUUUUUUUUUUUU

im having the same issue, on perlico based in kerry

Yes ondafly, I'm having a similar experience on Vodafone (Co. Laois). I can get into Gmail fine and most .ie sites but anything else fails completely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,675 ✭✭✭exaisle

Same here (Brittas Co Dublin exchange).

Im on Vodafone but cant access any sites outside of ireland. Noticed first when my internet radio couldnt access BBC...

Is this just a Vodafone issue or is it all ISPs?

Same experience here in Cavan on Vodafone.

Same. I'm on Perlico in the midlands. Some Irish and UK sites are working OK but most of the net seems inaccessible.

Someone in Vodafone mess up a routing table?

Yup. Vodafone Dublin very limited service here this morning.

Same here in Dublin -- with Vodafone and most sites wont load...

Anyone know/can findout, how long its going to be till this is sorted?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,675 ✭✭✭exaisle

As i typed, it seems to have returned to (ab)normal....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,263 ✭✭✭Shlippery

Aye, same problems, on Vodafone in Tuam...decided to wreck my head and go playing with settings and crap, at least I know I ain't the only one suffering! I'm not sure why only Boards.ie and google and a few other sites work...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,675 ✭✭✭exaisle

The problem seems to be with .uk sites...I can access US and european sites but not (for example) bbc.co.uk

They are .ie domains. We seem to be on a limited network that doesn't get the rest of the world. OR maybe the rest of the world doesn't get us. We have been cast out. Stripped of our crappy social networking sites and news sites besides RTE(shudder).

    Found this on there site...
My Vodafone at Home broadband has stopped working. Why?

We are currently carrying out essential maintenance to our network and as this is progressed, some areas may experience a temporary outage. For more information, please call customer care on 1907.

Yep, vodafone in shannon ****e this morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,002 ✭✭✭MargeS

Yip, vodafone service is affected in Galway too. If I have to travel into Galway to work, I'll friggin charge Vodafone the cost of >50 miles in petrol!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,187 ✭✭✭ondafly

seems to work fine on vodafone 3G modem, but home DSL = fail

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 183 ✭✭crótach

I'm not sure if this is vodafone issue only, I'm on eircom broadband (fixed line) and pretty much everything except Irish sites is inaccessible. I can get on to boards and google.ie, but can't get on EA for example.

Lookups through opendns are working fine and names are being resolved.
Traceroute shows a complete break after the xxx.dublin.eircom.net hop.

Have we been severed from the rest of the world?

EDIT: German sites work too. Someone else reported UK is working as well.

Yeah, Vodafone in Mullinavat here - really patchy routing this morning. Assumed it was just me, restarted stuff a bunch of times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 255 ✭✭travist

    okay, this happened before.

i called them this morning and after explaining for 15 mins, the guy said he just got an email about this.

I am getting a refund for the time that the internet is unavailable. I suggest everyone calls vodafone and does the same. Shoddy service. Pick up your phone and call them, otherwise it will happen again in a few weeks or months.

This is not limited to Vodafone - see other threads.

Would filter bypass sites work? Like the ones people use to access facebook in work?

Same for me in Greystones. I'm on Vodafone.
It happened yesterday morning too, but seemed to resolve itself around 9.30 - so I thought it was just me.

At least I can get on to boards

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 183 ✭✭crótach

Ah, I got it working again. Used a VPN service that I normally just use for Hulu etc, and the web is working again. A bit slower granted, but at least I can access all the sites now.

Well, Vodafone can take it up with their provider. I pay them for a service.

True - I guess your contract is with them. I was just pointing out that Vodafone ppl are not alone! Reported now across a number of ISP's/configurations etc

Same for me. Can't access some other countries. Although my phone, on O2, seems to have full access.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,495 ✭✭✭JohnC.

And a few minutes later, it's coming back :D

Anyone get through to vodafone? Mailed them a while ago, no acknowledgement. Called and gave up after 5 minutes on hold.
